About AmeriTex - Houston Shredding Services

Houston Shredding Services - Document & Paper Shredding

Our Executive Team

AmeriTex was formed because of the lack of competent service being provided by the other service companies in the shredding industry. Larry and David, being pioneers in the shredding industry, remember the days when multi-year contracts were not required as service should always meet a client's needs without resting on laurels. Also when a customer calls in for service, the service company actually knows the customer. What happened to personal service?

AmeriTex is represented by 46 years of experience in the information destruction industry. With this experience, AmeriTex guarantees you the most secure and efficient service possible. Our motto is simple; we will exceed the customers' expectation from every point of service.

Larry Cockman, CSDS, President & CEO

Larry has 21 years experience in the document destruction industry including 12 years as a Vice President and owner of Texas Shredding Company, Inc. from 1991 to 2002. During his tenure with another service industry firm he earned the title President's Club as the top sales manager for the lines of business he represented year after year. In addition, Larry has owned and owns other business ventures in the retail and service industries.

Certified Secure Destruction Specialist

Larry is one of only a handful of individuals in the United States and only one of three in Texas that has been honored with the NAID CSDS (Certified Secure Destruction Specialist) designation. This NAID Certification shows Larry's experience and knowledge of privacy laws and how they affect your business.

David Culbertson, Executive Vice President & COO

David has 25 years industry experience. He entered the industry in 1986 as a founding partner and President of Texas Shredding Company, Inc. which operated successfully for 16 years before being sold as part of an industry consolidation. He later became an industry consultant working with companies in the United States to develop the startup phase of their operations as well as consulting on several acquisitions.

David is a Charter Member of NAID (the National Association for Information Destruction). He served on the NAID Board of Directors for 9 years and is one of only two individuals ever to receive an Honorary Lifetime Membership. As the group's fourth President, David was interviewed by ABC News, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and The L.A. Times during the Enron scandal and was instrumental in leading the industry to adopt the first NAID Certification program whereby companies are certified and audited on their security standards.

David is an experienced public speaker and addresses information destruction topics such as Identity Theft for groups including ARMA, ASIS, NAID, PRISM, and local business organizations. He serves the industry currently in advisory capacities as members of The NAID Presidential Advisory Board (PAB) and the NAID Certification Rules Committee (CRC).
